Two class work that got my attention
First discussion we had in the class was (Does being vegan helps to save our environment) ?
This discussion got my attention because of the number of different opinions I've heard from students and also the point of view is a bit strange and also considered irrelevant to the main idea behind what are the benefits of being vegan and how does that help to save the environment.
This was my opinion about this discussion that I shared with everyone in the class: ( first of all the question was (is being vegan more environmentally friendly) the answer to this question is (yes) because being vegan these days is a good way to stay healthy and it saves the animals ect...but the important question is (does being vegan HELPS to save the environment in any way?) The answer to this question in my opinion is (no), and I have my reasons,
1- my first reason is that there are a lot of other ways we can do as humans to help and save our environment for example stop cutting the trees in the world and do the opposite by growing more trees.
2- we can try to stop using petroleum engines by using electric engines in cars bikes trains etc...
3- we can use the right amount of water and plants to produce meat.
4- the last reason is we can transfer our world to a green environment friendly by recycling our trash and use the sun as the main source for power etc...
Ps: I think in my opinion that recycling is considered the main thing that could and will help our environment to be better at everything.
Is homeschooling better than ordinary education ?
The second discussion/assignment that we had in the class.
This assignment was one of my favorite things personally that we did inside the class because it was kind of a new topic to us students and the Arab society in general.
The question was Are you with homeschooling or against it and why?
Many students agreed on the benefits that come from homeschooling and I one of them, and also the other half saw that homeschooling might pose a threat to students because of the negatives that come from it, but in this case, I will share with guys my point of view on the topic and also what are the reasons that made me choose to be with the side who agrees that homeschooling might help the student to get a better education.
The reasons are:
1- The relationship between the student and the parent: Parents spend more time with their children during their growing up years, and thus this establishes stronger and longer relationships between them and that's why homeschooling will provide more time for the students.
2- (designing the curriculum) this reason may help the student to get his freedom in choosing the subjects that he loves, so that will help the student to divide the subjects according to his interest in them, and also will give the student freedom in intellectual and academic development because of The options available to him in contrast to being given a customized curriculum that he walks on throughout the school year.
3- student protection: Although discarded bad behavior, riots, and abuse are now common in most school settings, and it is unfortunate to think that every student has been subjected to riots during school life. And through homeschooling, that can be completely eradicated.
4- (Time) the student will have many opportunities to use the time that he will have in other things, for example in emergency cases such as his parents 'illness or other emergencies, so the student will have the opportunity to do something about it, unlike the normal school that forces the student to stay in the school in his spare time, homeschooling gives the student the freedom to divide his time by doing things that may help him in the future and his studies or for example learning new stuff.
